About me

Yasmin Adan

Systems thinker & builder

I design and build end-to-end systems, from design to deployment. I’m also drawn to the operational layer: how products behave in the real world, where the edge cases live, and how to make things work for the people who depend on them.

How I think

I build for how businesses actually work.

Years spent working inside operational businesses taught me to look beyond the happy path — at the handovers, exceptions, risks and small decisions that determine whether a system actually works.

Find the weak points

I look for where processes tend to break: missing information, unclear handovers and decisions nobody owns.

Make sensible trade-offs

Not everything needs to be built at once. I work out what matters now, what can wait and what will make the biggest difference.

Design for the awkward cases

Real businesses are full of exceptions. I build systems that can handle them, not just the perfect scenario.

How it works

From a messy process to a simpler system.

1. Understand
1

You show me how things currently work.

We identify what’s repetitive, confusing or taking too much time.

Listen first
2. Design
2

I work out a simpler way to do it.

We decide what the system needs to do and what it doesn’t.

Only what’s needed
3. Build
3

I build and test the system.

You see the system as it develops and give feedback.

You’re involved
4. Launch
4

Your new system goes live.

I help you get it set up and make sure you know how to use it.

You don’t need a spec. A few sentences about how it currently works is enough to start.
